KYMCO Super Dink GT 350 2025 driving test
The Super Dink is a scooter that holds special significance in our country, not only for having become a true benchmark, especially in its initial 125cc and 300cc versions, but also for its peculiar name, being known as Down Town outside of Spain. The fact that the Dink and Gran Dink models had already been marketed previously influenced the decision to call it Super Dink.
This model, under different names, sold over 100,000 units in the last decade and a half, with approximately 65,000 of them sold in Spain between 2009 and 2021, when sales were interrupted due to the lack of a Euro 5 version. It was replaced by the DTX, the "ADV" version, which remains on the market. Now, the Super Dink has been updated to meet Euro 5+ emissions standards, returning to the market with the aim of reviving its sales success.

It was a cutting-edge model, proving to be the fastest in its class and extremely reliable. The high-displacement scooter that became a leader. The original 300 cc model was updated to 350 cc in 2015, facing fiercer competition, not only from new entrants, but also from already established brands.
In 2025, the Super Dink GT 350, whose technical specifications you can find at this link, bears little resemblance to the model we knew. Its mechanics are partially based on the DTX (Down Town X), which has a similar engine, although the body and chassis have significant differences. The engine has been adapted to the new requirements: a liquid-cooled 321 cc single-cylinder engine that develops 21 kW (28 hp) at 7,500 rpm and 30 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm — figures in line with most of its competitors.

In addition to all this, some extra features have been added, such as the ESS emergency braking system, which activates the turn signals from 50 km/h to alert the vehicle behind about a sudden stop; there is an electronic key with a range of 3.5 m to prevent the motorcycle from remaining running if you forget to turn it off and drain the battery; and it also has a new floating digital panel with three lines of information, in addition to the speedometer and tachometer, and indicators for fuel level, consumption, voltage, temperature, clock and coolant temperature.

Stability is also maintained in curves, where ground clearance is ample and the motorcycle offers great ease of maneuvering. If there is any criticism to be made of the chassis, it is regarding braking power, which requires considerable pressure on the lever for an effective stop. A larger disc on the front wheel, for which there is now space, would probably solve this problem. The engine power is in line with the category; It's not exceptional, but it doesn't disappoint either, and the clutch operation has also been improved, both during starting and acceleration, with smooth and progressive engagement.

The storage capacity, including the under-seat compartment and the two front glove boxes, should be sufficient for most users. The size of the windscreen may be a little small, especially for those planning to use it frequently on road trips, but there will certainly be aftermarket options available soon.
The controls are easy to use, although the information displayed is limited. With the electronic key, you need to press a button to activate the system and then turn the knob, which controls all starting and unlocking functions. The large-capacity fuel tank provides good range, thus maintaining its GT credentials, combining comfort, luggage space, performance, and excellent handling.
