Pangaea GT to bid farewell to Audi RS6

If the Audi RS6 is considered a separate model separate from the Audi A6 family, then the current fourth generation of the “RS-six” will probably remain the last in history to be powered exclusively by gasoline. What the new Audi RS6 will look like and when is still unknown, but it will definitely not be electric, but most likely a hybrid.

Now the tuning studio MTM is getting involved in the story, the abbreviation of which in the name inspires awe among car connoisseurs. The German MTM (Motoren Technik Mayer) made a name for itself as a tuner for Lamborghini, Audi and Porsche, but the new product is the work of the company’s Swiss branch. MTM decided to bid farewell to the outgoing Audi RS6 in a dignified manner and presented the Pangaea GT supercar based on it.

Pangaea GT

This is the most extreme version of the Audi RS6 that is legal for road traffic. The design of the Pangaea GT is unmistakably reminiscent of the original, but all the exterior body panels, including the roof with its long longitudinal air vent, are made of carbon fiber. The interior is also dominated by lightweight materials – the standard seats have been replaced by four individual bucket seats on lightweight carbon fiber frames.

Inside, MTM stripped the RS6’s plush interior down to its essentials. Gone is the five-seat configuration; in its place are four individual carbon bucket seats, each trimmed in Alcantara. The dashboard, console, and door panels are redesigned with the same lightweight mindset as the body: minimal lines, exposed carbon fiber, and a focus on driving rather than distraction.

MTM didn’t go the digital-heavy interior route, like most modern supercars. Instead, they leaned into a tactile, analog feel that fits the Pangaea’s character. The steering wheel is clean, the gauges are purposeful, and there’s nothing here to take your eyes off the road. Even with its stripped-down approach, the interior feels expensive in the right way, like functional luxury. You can see where every dollar went: engineering, materials, and precision.

Compared to the original Audi RS6, the Pangaea GT’s body is larger in all directions due to the widened wheel arches and the highly developed aerodynamic body kit, which creates a lot of downforce. The GT is 13 cm longer and 17 cm wider than the standard model. The new hood has a protruding central part and two rows of side vents. The huge 22-inch wheels are equipped with wide, high-performance tires.

The most powerful standard V8 engine in the Audi RS6 produces 630 hp and 750 Nm, allowing the station wagon to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h. MTM has extensively reworked the twin-turbo V8: new turbochargers, a modified intake system, software remapping and a new exhaust system have boosted power to “more than 1,100 horsepower”, torque to 1,200 Nm.

Performance is on a hypercar level: the Pangaea GT accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, develops a maximum speed of 350 km/h. Like the original Audi RS6, the tuned model has all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. MTM plans to hand-build just 25 examples of the Pangaea GT in Switzerland. The price has not been announced, but it is clearly huge considering the scope of the work and the performance.
