Infiniti QX80 R-Spec with 1,000 HP
Infiniti is transforming its flagship luxury SUV into an unexpected raw performance machine with the QX80 R-Spec concept, which will soon debut at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
Infiniti says the QX80 R-Spec features unprecedented performance thanks to a version of the legendary GT-R twin-turbo engine, here boosted to a full 1,000 horsepower.
Following the introduction of the 650-plus horsepower QX80 Track Spec concept at Monterey Car Week, the R-Spec is a far more extreme, uncompromising study of powerful, yet still luxurious SUV variants.

The QX80 R-Spec is powered by the GT-R’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that has been extensively modified to produce 1,000 horsepower, with custom turbochargers and intercoolers. The choice of the GT-R engine as the donor for this concept is a direct nod to the standard twin-turbo V6 engine in the QX80.
The QX80 R-Spec also comes with carbon-ceramic brakes, a modified suspension, 24-inch bronze wheels (designed to resemble those on the GT-R), and an aero body kit.

All of its visual enhancements are directly inspired by the Nissan GT-R T-Spec Takumi Edition, starting with the color-changing foil that pays homage to the Midnight Purple color made famous on the R34 and R35 GT-R generations.
This aggressive new look enhances the Infiniti QX80’s already powerful design and clearly indicates its exciting level of performance.
