In a stunning comeback during the Indonesian MotoGP main race, Marco Bezzecchi narrowly escaped serious injury after a terrifying collision with the legendary Marc Márquez. The race, which had been thrilling, descended into chaos when the Italian, who had demonstrated extraordinary pace throughout the weekend, was involved in a devastating accident that left both riders visibly shaken.

After a turbulent start, in which he dropped to eighth place, Bezzecchi responded strongly, setting an impressive pace and demonstrating why he had secured pole position. However, his aggressive style came at a price: entering Turn 7, the Italian collided with Márquez, causing a catastrophic crash that sent both champions crashing into the gravel.

Shortly afterward, it was confirmed that Bezzecchi suffered no fractures, but Márquez was not so lucky. Initial medical reports point to an injury to his right shoulder, with possible damage to the ligaments in his clavicle. The nine-time world champion will travel to Madrid, where he will undergo a CT scan to determine whether the fracture is present or simply a worsening of previous problems, particularly the injury he suffered in 2020.

After the accident, Bezzecchi was taken to the Mataram hospital for detailed examinations. Despite the pain, the rider has no fractures, but his immediate future is uncertain. The MotoGP stewards' panel has opened an investigation into the incident, postponing a final decision until Bezzecchi is ready to testify—a harrowing wait for the young Italian, who could miss the Australian Grand Prix, scheduled for October 19th.

Amid the controversy, Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola publicly expressed regret for the incident, highlighting both Bezzecchi's speed and the gravity of the situation.

"We must apologize to Marc for what happened," Rivola stated. "Racing incidents are part of the sport, but it's always painful when someone is forced to retire due to a collision."

The race in Indonesia was marked by an incident on the first lap in which Aprilia rider Marco Beceki, an Italian, knocked the new world champion, Spaniard Marc Marquez, who is a member of Ducati, off the track. Both riders had to retire from the race, and Marquez was taken to hospital. Spanish media reported that Marquez suffered a fractured bone in his right shoulder.

Marc Marquez leads the overall standings with 545 points, while his brother Alex Marquez is in second place with 362.

Marquez injures collarbone: Beceki has already come to apologise...The new MotoGP champion, Ducati rider Marc Marquez, injured his collarbone in a crash during today's Indonesian Grand Prix.

Marquez, who won his seventh premier class title in Japan last week and the ninth overall in his career, was injured on the first lap after an incident with Aprilia's Marc Beceki. He was holding onto his right shoulder after falling onto the gravel and was immediately taken to the medical centre for examination.

- As a result of today's crash at Mandalika, Marc Marquez has injured his right collarbone. The Spanish rider will travel to Madrid tonight for further medical examinations to determine the course of treatment - Ducati said in a statement, as reported by the BBC (BBC).

Marquez injured the right shoulder on the arm he broke in 2020, for which he underwent numerous operations.

- The plan is to travel to Madrid as soon as possible. Then I will go straight to the doctor, to fix my collarbone, as I feel something is broken. After that, I will listen to the doctor to make the best recovery possible - Marquez told the Moto GP website.

- This is racing and these things happen. It is true that sometimes it is not my fault, and Marko Beceki has already come to apologize to me - added the 32-year-old motorcyclist.

He took to social media to urge fans not to hold Becekji accountable, saying: "Nobody does it on purpose."

Gresini rider Fermin Aldeger won the race in Indonesia, his first MotoGP victory.

- I can't believe it, I'm so happy. I'm a rookie, we're doing an incredible job. I have to keep going like this," said Aldeger.

The next MotoGP race will be held on October 19th at the Australian Grand Prix.
