Marc Marquez wins Austrian Grand Prix
Ducati rider Marc Marquez won the Austrian Grand Prix today and extended his lead in the overall standings.
Marquez won in 42:11.06 minutes to claim his sixth consecutive victory, the first time in the championship since 2014. The six-time world champion now has 97 career victories, with his first at the Red Bull Ring today. The Spanish rider also won the sprint in Spielberg on Saturday.
Gresini rider Fermin Aldeger took second place, overtaking Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi with five laps to go, who started from pole position but ended up third. Aldeger was 1.118 seconds behind the winner, while Beceki was 3.426 seconds behind.
KTM rider Pedro Acosta took fourth place, his teammate Enea Bastianini was fifth, and Repsol Honda's Gioan Mir was sixth. KTM rider Brand Binder was seventh, Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia eighth, Aprilia's Raul Fernandes ninth, and Ducati rider Alex Marquez took 10th place.
Marc Marquez leads the overall standings with 418 points, 142 points ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez and 197 points ahead of third-placed Bagnaia.

After starting in fourth place, the six-time champion took the lead by overtaking Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi with nine laps remaining and never relinquished the lead. The Italian finished third, having also lost the position to Spaniard Fermín Aldeguer of Gresini Ducati.
This was Márquez's sixth consecutive MotoGP victory and his ninth of the season. With this victory, he reached 418 points in the championship, 142 more than his brother Álex Márquez of Gresini Ducati, who finished 10th and now has 276.
Two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia, Márquez's teammate on the factory Ducati team, finished eighth and reached 221 points.
The championship continues next weekend with the Hungarian Grand Prix.
