Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon
The Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, a new trim package in the Mustang GTD series, debuted at Laguna Seca Raceway, the perfect venue to showcase how lightweight carbon fiber technology plays a role in the GTD’s body, looks and performance.
Carbon fiber is the preferred body material for race cars in a number of top racing series, including IMSA, where the Mustang GT3 car that inspired the Mustang GTD competes.

The Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon enhances the aerodynamic, racing style without sacrificing any extreme track performance. The look is also functional. Replacing the door panels with bonded carbon fiber reduces weight compared to the Mustang GTD Carbon series with the Performance Package.
“The Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is the ultimate expression of the high-tech, high-performance construction of the Mustang GTD and is a reminder of the superior race-derived capabilities that lie beneath the surface of every Mustang GTD,” said Mustang GTD chief program engineer Greg Goodall. “The Mustang GTD is a great-looking car, and now it stands out even more with its striking exposed carbon bodywork and functional aerodynamic elements.”

The interior features a bold combination of black leather and Dinamica microfiber, with Hyper Lime stitching on the seats, door panels, center console, instrument panel, and steering wheel.
As with the Carbon Series, the carbon weave of the hood, roof, rear and rear wing seamlessly blends along the vehicle’s centerline. Additionally, the fenders and side panels blend with the vehicle’s rear elements, presenting a cohesive pattern in the carbon fiber body.
The Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon features unique black Brembo brake calipers, which match the anodized bodywork with gloss black GTD lettering. And like the Mustang GTD Spirit of America, the Performance Package is standard.

“High performance requires great precision. When we designed the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, it was essential that these small details were present, as they speak to the care and attention required to build a vehicle like the Mustang GTD and to compete and win on the world stage with the Mustang GT3,” said Anthony Collard, Mustang GTD design manager.
It was previously announced that the Mustang GTD is powered by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 800 horsepower at 7,500 rpm. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends power to the rear axle.
