PEUGEOT
The car manufacturer Peugeot has already made a name for itself in the world of bicycles. It has just unveiled a new range of electric models that combine avant-garde design with new connectivity technologies.
An urban bike, a long-tail cargo bike and a front-loading cargo bike, these are the three new electric models unveiled by the Peugeot brand on the occasion of Pro Days, the bicycle industry fair which took place held in Paris. The urban bike, dubbed Digital E-Bike, caught the eye with its clearly out-of-the-ordinary design. This e-bike sports a central motor connected to the rear wheel by a belt drive system, replacing the traditional chain. Other features include fitted mudguards, swept-back handlebars and hydraulic disc brakes.
New cycle for Peugeot...On the technical sheet, there is a Shimano EP8 motor and a battery with a capacity of 720 Wh. In addition to the Digital E-Bike, Peugeot has introduced the Digital e-Longtail, a long-tail cargo bike capable of comfortably carrying up to two children or a substantial load, making it particularly suitable for family use. The third bike presented by the manufacturer is a front-loading cargo model, called the Digital e-Front Load. Similar to an SUV in terms of carrying capacity, this bike can carry up to three children or heavy loads, making it an ideal choice for family or business use.
Peugeot did not content itself with making an impression with this range with an original design. These three new models of electric bikes also introduce several new features to the range. These two-wheelers will thus be equipped with a new smartphone application which offers, among other things, adaptive electric assistance, an anti-theft system, an alarm, bike geolocation, real-time navigation, weather forecasts at destination and trip statistics.
The electric bicycle market is booming, boosted by the rapid development of technologies as well as by the awareness of environmental issues. The connected models also integrate geolocation systems, real-time navigation or even adaptive electric assistance. It is hardly surprising to see Peugeot embark on the sector with an original proposal!
