F1: Leclerc already with one foot out of Ferrari
Ferrari ended the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix weekend with a sprint race tempered with slow pit stops, but the Italian team with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc still managed fourth and fifth, although that was partly down to to Lewis Hamilton's time penalty.
“If I had pitted with Carlos, I would have lost a lot more positions. We made a good decision as a team, it's a shame it didn't pay off from my point of view", evaluated Leclerc after the nod. “My tire change was also slow and we have to deal with that. Before the current race we were still the best team if you look at the stats, but in the last few races we struggled with pit stops. I'm a little worried about that right now, so we have to look into what's causing it."
The Monaco rider added that the slow tire change was not the only factor that made things difficult for him on Saturday. “I could definitely feel the car overheating. It was also very difficult to control the temperature of the tires", commented Leclerc, who expects a different lineup in Sunday's race, starting at the front. “Tomorrow will be a completely different day. If the race is completely dry then we are not going to benefit from what we learned today.
