After taking a screenshot, you can share it with others using iPhone. CarPlay’s screenshot feature can be very useful when you want to show someone what’s on your screen, whether it’s your favorite playlist or a third-party app like Google Maps or Waze.

How to take a screenshot of the CarPlay screen...To take a CarPlay screenshot, simply unlock your iPhone and take a screenshot on your iPhone by simultaneously pressing the lock and volume up buttons (see here how to do it).

On older iPhone, you can press the lock button and home button at the same time to take a screenshot.

It is possible to take screenshots of the home screen and CarPlay apps.

When you take a screenshot on iPhone, iOS checks if it’s connected to CarPlay. If so, it takes and saves two screenshots of what’s on the iPhone and what’s on the CarPlay screen at the same time.
