The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV will be able to travel further on a full charge than originally expected. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Chevy announced that the Work Truck version has a measured range of 724 km.
Previously, Chevrolet had suggested that the range of the Silverado EV Work Truck would be 643 km. A Chevrolet spokesperson explained that the Silverado EV Work Truck's previously stated range was its own estimate, and the actual result was even better.
Caranddriver contacted a Chevrolet representative to find out what led to the WT version's increased range. Chevrolet has only confirmed that the higher rating is the result of EPA certification, along with real-world testing and development over the past few months.
The Silverado WT will be available for the first time this summer. Its four-wheel drive twin-engine powertrain develops 510 hp and 833 Nm of torque. The vehicle supports charging up to 350 kW, which, according to Chevy, can increase range by 160 km in 10 minutes.
Pricing for the 2024 Silverado EV has yet to be officially announced.
