SCANIA

Scania V8 com cabine bicuda é apresentado no mercado

Tuft Customservice and Holtan Bil have teamed up to build a Scania V8 with an all-new advanced cab

In Europe and Brazil, pointy trucks are no longer manufactured, that is, with an advanced cabin. Thus, with the smaller cabin it is possible to pull larger implements and therefore more load. However, to cater to fans of this type of model, there are companies in Europe that transform flat-faced models into pointy ones. Scania trucks are among the most sought after.

In Norway, for example, Tuft Customservice and Holtan Bil have teamed up to build a Scania V8 with an advanced cabin. According to the companies, the project began to be developed in 2022. In this sense, the truck brings elements from old models, from Series 2 and 3. That is, the most popular of the Swedish brand.

Thus, the companies released images of the truck's transformation process. With this, they seek to attract new interested parties. From the photos, you can see that this is an adaptation. Among the highlights, the R 580 and V8 emblems, alluding to the Scania truck, are fixed to the lower part of the grille, at the ends.

Old Scania back to the present...In other words, the model being transformed is the Scania from the NGT range, which arrived in Brazil in 2018. Therefore, one year after its debut in Europe. It's worth remembering that what changes is just the look. That is, all new technologies, such as electronic driving aids and the Euro 6 engine, have been maintained.

The main changes are concentrated in the front. For this, it was necessary to use several new parts. After all, the driver's seat has been moved back by about one metre. According to both companies, all metal components are built by them.

Although the bonnet is narrower at the front, the fenders are similar to Scania 3 Series trucks. However, the optics, grille and bumper are from the NGT range. Anyway, the bumper is tripartite. Likewise, the steps were maintained. In this way, must-have items such as the bottom guard remain in their original condition. This is mainly for a technical reason.

The differential is due to the two upper exhaust exits, located behind the cabin. The parts give the truck a sporty look.

Scania V8 com cabine bicuda é apresentado no mercado

Scania R 580 V8 as inspiration...Tuft CustomService has confirmed that it is building three units of the pointy truck. All based on the Scania R 580 6×4 V8. But the company accepts orders for the 660 hp version also with a V8 engine. This, the most popular in the old continent.

According to the companies, the first unit is already sold. And the rest are available. Anyway, the pointy Scania V8 will still receive paint. But nothing is known about it. Finally, the customizers confirm that the official presentation of the Scania V8 will take place on June 17th, when the Truckshow Ciney takes place in Belgium.
