DAF XF 6x4 Off Road: the new version for mixed and off-road operations was presented for the Brazilian market

DAF has just launched a new version of its XF truck. Called Off-Road, the novelty can be seen at Agrishow, the largest fair in the agribusiness sector, which ended on Friday (5/5) in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo. The DAF XF Off Road is intended for mixed and off-road operations. Thus, it focuses on the transport of sugar cane, wood and indivisible cargo, for example.

For this, the new truck is offered with two engine options. The input generates power of 480 hp and torque between 240 mkgf and 255 mkgf. At the top, there are 530 hp and from 255 mkgf to 265 mkgf. That is, the Total Gross Combined Weight (PBTC) is up to 91 tons. Therefore, the tractor with 6x4 traction can operate with bit-train implements with up to 11 axles.

Thus, the most powerful model is ideal for transporting sugarcane from the plantation to the mills, for example. In turn, the 480 hp engine can be used in other heavy operations. In this sense, in all versions the maximum traction capacity (CMT) is 150 t. In addition, the rear suspension has the capacity to support 26 t.

Likewise, to meet the demands of super-heavy operations, the DAF XF Off Road has a three-stage engine brake and power of up to 490 hp. Therefore, it is the same capacity as the brand's road line models. According to DAF, the electronic processing center has also evolved. Another virtue is the offer of differential ratios, which can be 4.12:1, 4.55:1, 5.41:1 and 6.18:1.

The ZF TraXon automated 12-speed Overdrive transmission completes the powertrain. According to the brand, the electronic management system is integrated into the CC. Namely, predictive cruise control. In practice, the truck "knows" the topography of the road about 2 km in advance.

In the cabin, the new DAF XF Off Road has the same level of finish as the road versions. In this sense, all commands are close to the driver. In addition, the coatings are made of easy-to-clean material and there are treats such as the refrigerator with 42 liters of capacity.
