N Vision 74 Concept going into production?
Last July, Hyundai presented the N Vision 74 Concept, which paid tribute to the 1974 Pony Coupe, a concept car designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Some media in South Korea are now writing that this sports model has allegedly received the green light for serial production, and that more information will be known on May 27.
Hyundai, however, has not commented on the report and has not announced official plans to produce the N Vision 74, but some of its top executives have previously expressed support for the production model.
Either way, the N Vision 74 has received positive feedback from enthusiasts and journalists around the world.
The N Vision 74 is otherwise described as a retro-futuristic model, showcasing futuristic sci-fi technology. The N Vision 74 is powered by a hybrid-hydrogen propulsion system that combines a battery-electric propulsion system and a hydrogen fuel cell. With a hydrogen tank that can be filled in five minutes and a 62.4 kWh battery capable of 800 V fast charging, the N Vision 74 has a range of 600 km.
The car has a total of 500 kW/680 HP and 900 Nm of torque, which enables a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
However, it is expected that the eventual serial model will have a different drive system.
In terms of dimensions, the N Vision 74 is 4952mm long, 1995mm wide, 1331mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2905mm.
“The N Vision 74’s forward-looking design reflects the respect and appreciation we have for the dedication and passion that went into the Pony Coupe concept,” said SangYup Lee, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Design Center.
