New AC Cobra Shown...The British company AC Cars presented the appearance of a new version of the legendary Shelby Cobra, which now comes under the name GT Roadster. The car was originally announced in December 2022, and these provide the first concrete insight into the modernized classic.
The premiere is scheduled for April, and the published images confirm that the new Cobra will remain faithful to the design of the original from the sixties. Modern details are very well integrated into the traditional style of this car. The windshield frame is much thicker and the door handles are flush. Visible carbon fiber outlines the large fenders and rockers.
The round headlights have LED daytime running lights, and the third brake light is visible behind the passenger compartment. Although we don’t have a clear view of the interior, there is a modern steering wheel with a combination of analog and digital displays.
In addition to what we can see in the photos, AC Cars has revealed some mechanical details like the aluminum tube frame chassis with race-tuned suspension. The car is slightly longer than the original, and Ford’s five-liter supercharged V8 engine that generates 654 HP and 778 Nm of maximum torque will be used for propulsion. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission.
