HARLEY-DAVIDSON
The new X500 roadster
Harley-Davidson has hit the headlines again with the launch of its new X 500 roadster. The new model arrives just a few weeks after the X 350 was presented and after spy photos of the 4XX model, developed in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp, were “leaked”.
Sharing many components with the Leoncino model, The X 500 boasts a 500cc water-cooled parallel twin engine that produces 47PS and 46Nm. There’s a tubular steel frame, 50mm USD fork, mono-shock and 17-inch alloy wheels. However, the X 500 stands out visually with its neoteric styling, taking styling cues from the XR1200X model.
The characteristics of the motorcycle include monopod semi-digital instrument console with digital insert and dual-channel ABS as the only electronic assistance system.
The only noticeable departure from the classic Harley-Davidson aesthetic is the integration of the rear indicators with the taillights.
With a curb weight of 208 kg, the X 500 is a heavy machine that promises to deliver a distinctive driving experience, while at the same time it will be more attractive to a wider global audience. Details related to price and availability are not yet known.
