GORDON MURRAY T.33 SPIDER: O CÉU É O LIMITE DESTE V12 ASPIRADO NATURALMENTE

Gordon Murray T.33 Spider: 3.9L V12 Cosworth naturally aspirated engine and still with very limited production

In January 2022 the Gordon Murray T.33 Coupe was presented and as scheduled, this week the British manufacturer unveiled the Gordon Murray T.33 Spider.

It is the natural open-air evolution of the T.33 Coupe. Of the Coupe version, only 100 units were manufactured, which were sold in just a few hours, and it's no wonder.

Although we are talking about vehicles with astronomical prices that exceed a million pounds sterling, these are unique, light and extremely powerful objects, which also have a spectacular V12 engine under the hood.

According to the brand, the new T.33 Spider combines the design of the T.33 with a more attractive driving experience. Thanks to two removable roof panels, a folding rear window and a naturally aspirated 3.9-litre V12 Cosworth engine located just behind the seats, the sensations are, as promised, legendary.

The engine weighs 178 kilograms and produces 617 hp at 10,250 rpm. According to the manufacturer, it offers 90% of the torque between 4,500 and 10,500 rpm - 451 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The engine is mated to an 82-kilogram Xtrac manual transmission. The engine is nourished by fresh air thanks to numerous intakes, one of which is in the roof.

The super sports car will stay glued to the asphalt thanks to the exceptionally light and resistant forged aluminum alloy wheels, which weigh less than 7 kilos each, and which are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.

Behind the wheels we find a specially developed Carbon Ceramic Matrix brake system. Offering an ideal combination of high thermal resistance, low unsprung mass and reduced wear, it features six- and four-piston monobloc calipers on the front and rear axles, respectively, to ensure constant deceleration in all driving conditions.

The T.33 Spider adheres to Gordon Murray Automotive's seven design principles. It is light, completely driver-centric, timelessly stylish, aerodynamically advanced, practical, attractive and very fast. With regard to practicality, it is worth noting the presence of two trunk spaces that offer a total of 295 liters of capacity.

The T.33 Spider is shaped using iStream Ultralight carbon fiber monocoque technology, which provides excellent torsional rigidity. As with all of the marque's road cars, production will be strictly limited to 100 units and all will be assembled by hand.

The T.33 Spider will be manufactured at GMA's new world headquarters and technology campus: Highams Park in Windlesham, Surrey, southwest of London.
