Felipe Massa calls for justice over 2008 Formula 1 championship
In an interview with CNN, former Brazilian driver Felipe Massa said that he expects justice for what happened at the 2008 Formula 1 Singapore GP, and recalled the loss of the title to Lewis Hamilton.
Something was stolen and nothing was done. What interests me is justice. A title represents a lot for motorsport, it's something very serious...said Felipe Massa
The Brazilian's statements come after former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone told the German website "F1 Insider" that he failed to cancel the result of the Singapore Grand Prix that year, when he was aware of what had really happened. .
A Brazilian driver has not won the Formula 1 title since Ayrton Senna (1960-1994) became three-time champion in 1991.
Remember the case... In 2008, Brazilian driver Felipe Massa was leading the Singapore GP and the dispute for the Formula 1 title.
At the Marina Bay circuit, fellow Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr, at the time racing for Renault, deliberately crashed to favor his teammate Fernando Alonso, following orders from the bosses of the team.
Massa was leading the race at the time of the crash and ended up being hampered by the yellow flag.
