The Mazda CX-50 was introduced in November 2021, and in 2022 production was established in the US at a plant in Huntsville, Alabama. And now production of the Mazda CX-50 has been launched in China, in a joint venture with Changan Mazda.
Outside and inside, the Chinese CX-50 does not differ from the American one: neither the design nor the interior architecture has changed. The dimensions of the CX-50 are 4785 x 1920 x 1638 mm, while the wheelbase is 2815 mm.
Interestingly, the CX-50 doesn't have the popular large screens on the front panel. More precisely, there is a projection screen and a small screen as part of the media system, and the instrument panel is classic. The equipment also includes a panoramic roof, BOSE acoustics, heated seats and various systems of the second level of driver assistance.
For the Chinese Mazda CX-50 does not supply gasoline turbo engines: at the initial stage, the crossover will be available with naturally aspirated engines of 2.0 liters and 2.5 liters (both combined with a six-speed gearbox), and later it will launch a more economical hybrid with a 2.5 liter engine and an electric motor.
The latest Mazda CX-90 crossover will debut on April 4th.
