800 MT Explore Edition: proof that the Chinese brand's partnership with the Austrian KTM is paying off

Since the beginning of the partnership with KTM, there has been a notable advance in the technology and performance of CFMOTO motorcycles. CFMOTO does not hide that it uses the Austrian manufacturer's technology in its models and seems to benefit a lot from it, especially when it comes to building a strong global presence. In fact, when it comes to Chinese-made two-strokes, those with the CFMOTO label are considered one of the best.

CFMOTO continues to improve its range in several segments. We recently mentioned the new 800 NK that uses KTM 790 Duke technology. This time, CFMOTO presented a tuned version of the 800 MT adventure bike called the Explore Edition. Billed as the flagship model of the 800 MT range, the Explore Edition brings a lot of cool features to the table, as well as a number of enhancements that make it the perfect choice for long road trips.

To start with, CFMOTO equipped the 800 MT Explore Edition with a sophisticated blind spot monitoring system powered by radar sensors at the rear of the bike(image below). This makes driving, especially at night and in low visibility conditions, much safer. To accommodate the radar system, the 800 MT Explore Edition is equipped with a larger eight-inch TFT screen. The unit now has a touchscreen and comes with Bluetooth connectivity and voice control.

When it comes to performance, the 800 MT Explore Edition comes with Michelin dual sport tyres. Electronics have also been improved, with a finer traction control system that provides a better driving experience. Other than that, the powertrain remains the same. The 800 MT Explore Edition is powered by a modified variant of KTM's LC8C engine, which delivers 95 hp and 73 Nm of peak torque. The suspension system consists of J.Juan hardware, with two 320mm rotors at the front and a single 260mm rotor at the rear.

Currently, CFMOTO has yet to announce pricing for the 800 MT Explore Edition and it is expected to be higher compared to the Sport and Touring versions.
