ANGELELLI D2 GRANTURISMO SUPERPERFORMANTE: CHEGA MAIS UM SUPERCARRO ITALIANO

Angelelli D2 Granturismo Superperformante: the new super sports car of Italian origin

Angelelli has just unveiled its new super sports car, the so-called D2 Granturismo Superperformante, for the time being only fit for use on circuits, although the brand announces a Stradale version. Its focus is on the most exotic models from Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini, and it has a starting price of around 450,000 euros.

The model shown in the images measures 4.60 meters long, 1.96 meters wide and 1.22 meters high, with classic Italian GT proportions: a long hood, muscular sides and a collected rear end. The manufacturer will offer two different configurations, both based on a large displacement V8 engine.

The manufacturer claims that the structure of the D2, made of titanium and aluminum alloy, was manufactured using 3D printing, so there are no joints, welds or screws. The result is a very rigid car, but one that claims just 1,350 kilos in its heaviest version.

They also took special care of the aerodynamics of the car, which is active, as it has 20 surfaces that move and are electronically controlled, varying the aerodynamic load between 600 and 1,650 kilos. The brand also claims that there are eight airflow diverters that can act as an 'aerobrake'.

As for the engines, as mentioned before, two different configurations will be offered. On the one hand, a 5.7-liter V8 biturbo petrol engine, with 600 hp of power and rear-wheel drive, and on the other the so-called Sport, a plug-in hybrid based on the same 5.7 V8 biturbo, but with the help of an electric motor. of 280 hp, for a combined power of 850 hp and all-wheel drive.

In the first case, the conventional V8 engine allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, in addition to a top speed of 330 km/h, while the PHEV system in the Sport version facilitates a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h.

However, Angelelli reported that the line could soon be expanded with the introduction of a hydrogen version and an electric one, the latter with four-wheel drive and a power of around 800 kW or 1,087 hp.

Finally, the cabin is minimalist yet luxurious, with leather and fabric upholstery, digital instrumentation and various equipment, such as a 360-degree camera, dispensing with the usual two rear-view mirrors.

As we can imagine, the D2 is not cheap, since, as we mentioned at the beginning, the brand foresees a starting price of 450,000 euros for the D2 with V8 engine and 580,000 euros for the plug-in hybrid Sport version.
