TATA SIERRA EV CONCEPT...As part of the New Delhi Motor Show, in India, TATA presented a prototype called Sierra EV which anticipates a future SUV model. As we know, the TATA Group, which owns Jaguar Land Rover, has big electrification plans in the works.

The company has undertaken to launch 10 electric vehicles in India in various market segments and with different body types, starting with the TATA Nexon EV, TATA Tigor EV and TATA Tiago.EV, whose deliveries are scheduled for early this year.

The new prototype, called TATA Sierra EV Concept, is the advance of another future electric model of the Indian brand, scheduled for 2025, but in this case, it seems that the SUV will also have combustion engines, and not just electric ones.

The Sierra EV is a much improved version of the prototype of the same name that the brand presented at the 2020 New Delhi Motor Show, but is now much closer to production. Despite its compact dimensions, it promises a spacious interior and a large trunk.

The concept's design is inspired by an SUV designed for adventure, with generous ground clearance, a high, almost flat hood, stylized LED headlights, underguards, the classic black moldings on the wheel arches and metal guards. on the bumpers, for example.

Unlike the original concept, with sliding doors, the new one has conventional doors, which give access to a passenger compartment with a very horizontal design and a modern-looking panel. There is no lack of a multifunctional steering wheel with the brand's logo backlit in the center.

In the rear seats, the Sierra EV has what the brand calls 'salon-type' seats, reclining and 'Business' style which, according to the manufacturer itself, offer more space than those of higher segment vehicles.

Autocar India publication claims that the production version of the Sierra EV will hit the Indian market in 2025 and will rank above the TATA Safari in the model lineup. For now, however, the specifications of the vehicle are not known, in addition to the fact that it will be manufactured on the company's ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform.
