964 SUPERCHARGED THEON DESIGN...There are many companies dedicated to the preparation and restoration of classic Porsche 911 models, such as Singer, RUF, RWB or Emory, but on this occasion we are talking about Theon Design once again.
We remind you that Theon Design is a British company founded in 2016, which has just presented its latest project, called BELL001, and which, as we can see in the images, is based on a Porsche 911 of the 964 generation.
Created for the house's first Belgian customer, this 964 has been restored from top to bottom and hides a 6-cylinder, 3.6-litre boxer engine, equipped with a Rotrex volumetric compressor, something that is not very common in this type of vehicle.
The air-cooled engine develops a power of 406 hp and a generous maximum torque of 498 Nm, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission, which is the original, but completely rebuilt by Theon Design.
According to the company, the engine's anchorage points were maintained, but the supports were reinforced to ensure that the propeller does not twist when demanding all its performance. The volumetric compressor, incidentally, is installed to the right of the engine, in place of the old air conditioning compressor, now replaced by a more compact and efficient one.
Among the elements installed by the company in this 964, the new exhaust system made of stainless steel and a semi-active suspension stand out. Theon also highlights a perfect weight distribution, 50% on each of the axles.
To keep the weight under control, in fact, the British company used carbon fiber in many body panels, achieving that the car weighs just 1,265 kilos with a full tank and all liquids.
As we can imagine, a restoration of this type is not precisely cheap, among other things because Theon Design takes around 18 months of work to complete each car. And the price starts from GBP 380,000 for the most basic possible order, as many options are extra.
