CANOO LTV: A PRIMEIRA PICK-UP ELÉTRICA DO EXÉRCITO NORTE-AMERICANO

Canoo LTV: the US Army's electric pickup truck

From the WWII Jeep Willys to the Canoo LTV. Times change and armies introduce new vehicles to carry out their missions. In this sense, the US Army already has the first electric pick-up, an LTV (Light Tactical Vehicle) tactical vehicle specially designed to operate on very demanding surfaces.

The US military will use this Canoo electric car for the purpose of demonstration and analysis. As we can see in the image, it has a pick-up design with a single cabin configuration, a raised suspension and 32-inch all-terrain tires.

The Canoo LTV is based on a similar model from the company, but suitably modified. It has specific bumpers with ring supports and a bucket with different opening systems. It is equipped with an electric motor that develops 600 hp and moves the four wheels through its own all-wheel drive system.

According to the company, the US Army electric pick-up was designed to be durable and protect passengers. To do this, it includes Kevlar for added strength, while the convertible flatbed allows the vehicle to transform from a pick-up truck to a flatbed truck or a cargo vehicle.

Likewise, its modular fastening system allows you to easily assemble “platforms, ramps, storage boxes, tents or tactical systems”. In addition, Canoo points out that this modular equipment system helps to reduce costs, since the models can be modified to meet different specific needs of each mission.

It may not be as spectacular as the GMC Hummer EV that is also used by the US military, but the Canoo LTV "is another milestone that demonstrates the power of our technology and how it can be used, even in tactical situations", said the company's CEO , Tony Aquila.
