Nio EC7, the most aerodynamic SUV in the world
The new EC7 was officially launched, with the Chinese at Nio presenting it as the most aerodynamic SUV ever built in the world. Of course, it's an electric model, available with three battery options. Prices for the new SUV start at €65,000, with first deliveries scheduled for May next year.
The Nio EC7 was built based on the EL7, another large model from the Asian manufacturer's portfolio. For starters, the EC7 will be available exclusively in the Chinese car market, but it remains to be seen whether things will change in this regard. As we said earlier, the Chinese at Nio claim that the EC7 is the most aerodynamic SUV ever built, with a drag coefficient of just 0.23.
Bearing in mind that the EL7 was the basis of this new model, the EC7 is quite similar in design to it, with the only difference being the SUV look of the EC7. The SUV is presented to us with an active rear spoiler and a panoramic glass roof matching Carscoops.
In terms of dimensions, the EC7 has a length of 4968 mm, a width of 1974 mm and a height of 1714 mm. In addition, the wheelbase reaches a value of 2,960 mm.
Maximum autonomy of 940 kilometers... In the technical chapter, nio The EC7 is equipped with two electric motor units, capable of developing together 653 horsepower and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. The model also has a four-wheel drive system. Under these conditions, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in just 3.8 seconds.
The EC7 is available with three battery variants, with different capacities: 75, 100 or 150 kWh. The smallest battery offers a range of 490 kilometers, while the top-of-the-range version boasts a range of 940 kilometers, measured in CLTC mode.
