Geometry G6: the brand's new electrified sedan
The war in the more affordable electric market has just begun, and the Chinese manufacturer is fully involved in that battle with the new Geely Geometry sub-brand. In a few months, the Geometry M6 will be joined by a 100% electric sedan that has just been presented in China.
This is the Geometry G6, which is not a completely new model, but an update of the so far known as Geometry A. Geely's new model stands out for a very attractive design, with large LED headlights joined by a panel closed and illuminated that also connects with the decorative inserts at the ends of the bumper, and merging into the cooling grille in the lower part of the bumper.
Geely bets on a clean side design, where the door handles are integrated into the panels, and also on elegance with the roof and pillars painted in glossy black in contrast to the bodywork. The thin taillights also add a more exclusive touch to this sedan, which features very generous measurements: 4,752 mm long, 1,804 mm wide, 1,503 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and a trunk that accommodates 430 liters.
The exterior elegance is transformed into a minimalist and technological cabin, where digitalization comes to life. The instrument panel is digital, as is the 14.6-inch touch screen of the multimedia system equipped with Huawei's connectivity technology. Standard equipment does not lack level 2 driving assistants such as traffic sign recognition and lane keeping, in addition to the following elements: automatic climate control; heat pump; ABS system; emergency braking assistant; reversing camera; anti-fog lights; parking sensors; sound system; voice control; cruise control; inductive charging support for smartphones and USB ports; regenerative braking.
The Geely Geometry G6 is based on Volvo's 'CMA' platform, and is equipped with a front electric motor that generates a maximum power of 150 kW, equivalent to 204 hp and a maximum torque of 310 Nm. It is associated with a battery with two levels of capacity: 53 kWh with a maximum range of 480 km and 70 kWh with 620 km, according to China's CLTC measurement cycle.
In both cases, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 150 km/h. In addition to China, the company will launch this model in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia during 2023, but also in other Western European countries as part of the 'Smart Geely 2025' strategy, with a price that can start from 20,000 euros.
