FORD PRO E DEUTSCHE POST DHL GROUP JUNTAM FORÇAS PARA ELETRIFICAR AS ENTREGAS DO TIPO LAST MILE A NÍVEL MUNDIAL

Ford Pro and Deutsche Post DHL Group form strategic partnership towards global carbon neutrality

Ford Pro and Deutsche Post DHL Group recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate the deployment of electrified vans in their logistics operations around the world. In doing so, both companies underscore their commitment to providing services that are both sustainable and green.

Underlining the planned collaboration, Ford Pro will equip Deutsche Post DHL Group with more than 2,000 electric delivery vans worldwide by the end of 2023, enhancing its leadership position in the use of electric vehicles for deliveries last mile worldwide. The written agreement covers a complete suite of solutions for operating the electric fleet, including access to Ford Pro's E-Telematics connected software and charging solutions, aimed at reducing costs and optimizing efficiency as part of the two entities' common zero emissions goals.

Ford aims to achieve, by 2035, zero emissions for all vehicle sales and carbon neutrality across its European footprint across facilities, logistics and suppliers, as well as global carbon neutrality by 2050.

Deutsche Post DHL Group, the world's leading logistics business group, is committed to strengthening clean operations to protect the environment and will invest seven billion euros in this decade on its path to net-zero logistics. Deutsche Post DHL Group targets a 60% share of electric vehicles used to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, now also driven by the Ford Pro range of electrified vehicles, including the all-new E-Transit.

“Ford Pro and Deutsche Post DHL Group share a vision of greater sustainability and a commitment to electrified solutions, and this agreement is an important step towards millions of deliveries being made by electrified vehicles around the world. E-Transit is the best-selling electric van in North America and since June it has also been the best-selling in its segment in Europe, which means that the two-tonne, 100% electric van is already taking big steps to support this ambition.” , said Hans Schep, managing director of Ford Pro in Europe.

“The electrification of last mile logistics is an important pillar to decarbonize our operations. The addition of the new Ford E-Transit to our global fleet of approximately 27,000 electric vans further strengthens our ability to provide green delivery services around the world. Joining forces to address our specific logistics requirements will lead to greater operational and service efficiencies,” said Anna Spinelli, Purchasing and Mobility Director at Deutsche Post DHL Group.

Ford Pro has already delivered the first E-Transits under the agreement, units that join the electric fleet of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, used for deliveries of the last mile type in several countries of the planet. Order volume is concentrated on E-Transit vans designed for express shipments in the Americas and Europe. The vehicles join the Deutsche Post DHL Group fleet at the busiest time of the year, making more sustainable deliveries possible for customers during this peak season. Additional purchases were also completed with Ford Pro Special Vehicles, which include custom compartments suitable for distribution operations in Germany's urban centers.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed by Ford and Deutsche Post DHL Group has the potential to allow both companies to explore joint development of future products, as well as new digital and charging solutions. In addition to providing early access to innovative ideas, Ford Pro will also give Deutsche Post DHL Group access to test vehicles and bespoke tracking services as the two companies explore expanding their cooperation into a growing number of markets. worldwide.
