The English method that repairs holes in asphalt in 4 minutes

Problems with holes in the street? In England it seems that someone has found the solution to the problem. It's called Velocity Patching a company from the English Channel who created this innovative vehicle capable of cleaning, sealing and putting bitumen into road defects in just a few minutes.

How it works...All the equipment and materials needed for the job are found in the specially designed vehicle. To repair the beech on the road surface, the operator uses a single gun that blows air at high speed to clean the hole of dirt, then introduces a cold bitumen emulsion into each crevice, thus sealing the defect and protecting it from infiltration. of water.

Finally, the repairman activates the aggregate supply to cure the cavity, evenly coating the granules. A not-so-complicated operation, but one that does require initial training because poor work runs the risk of creating more irregularities: in fact, it is necessary to place the layers of aggregate in the right places.

Precisely for this reason, the work must be done in two: the second operator actually helps in positioning the compactor on the asphalt.

But how long does it take Velocity Patching's special machine to patch a hole? Stopwatch in hand, the time required is only 3 minutes and 5 seconds. In one working day, therefore, around 200 holes can be repaired.

In fact, if, according to estimates, it costs €55 to repair the condition of the pavement using the traditional method (around €62 at current exchange rates), the Velocity solution reduces costs by up to £16 (around €18). No digging required and no waste, saving 90% CO2 compared to traditional patching. Plus, the speed of repairs keeps the traffic flowing with a 12-month labor warranty.
