Chevrolet K5 Blazer Ringbrothers...American specialist Ringbrothers has literally ventured into uncharted terrain with their latest beefy restomod. This is the 'Bully', a Chevrolet K5 Blazer that passed through the company's facilities in Spring Green, Wisconsin, and now hides a 1,200 hp engine under its hood.
With over 8,500 hours of work, the Bully started life as a 1972 K5 Blazer, but very little remains of the original vehicle that its first owner purchased from a US dealership. While the main body parts are painted in an elegant Bashful Blue metallic, we are immediately drawn to the custom hood with its vents with machined blades and the carbon fiber fenders that provide coverage for the 18-inch HRE wheels shod with tires. Cooper Discoverer.
But the real visual eye-catcher is Upholstery Unlimited's custom leather interior, whose seats are crafted with criss-cross leather straps attached to four perimeter frames and paired with a Ringbrothers carbon fiber steering wheel and Dakota Digital instrumentation.
The most powerful engine available in a factory Chevrolet Blazer in 1972 was a 5.7-liter V8 350 that delivered just 177 hp and 293 Nm. In this case, its 6.8-liter Wegner Motorsports LS3 engine gets the help of a 2.9-liter Whipple compressor and sends its 1,200 hp to all four wheels via a Bowler Tru-Street GM 4L80E transmission and Dana 44 and 60 axles. connect to the Roadster Shop's custom four-link suspension chassis that employs two Fox coils at each corner, and braking is controlled by six-piston Baer brakes at each end.
“Our partners HRE Wheels, Whipple Superchargers, Motul, Painless Wiring, Miller Welding, Holley and many others allowed us to see this project from concept to production. We are honored to work with the best in our industry and thank them for their continued support,” added Jim Ring.
