ZECTRON BIKES
Hong Kong company Zectron Bikes has released a fun folding bike that, according to the developers, combines good looks, functionality and safety. The dual battery version gives you 240km of easy cycling or 120km if you ride without pedaling. It folds up quickly, literally in a few moves.
The Indiegogo Zectron Folding E-Bike for Fundraising is available to order in the US with a 350W motor, 32km/h pedal assist and five power levels. For European residents, stricter restrictions apply: 250 W and 25 km/h, according to New Atlas.
A Shimano 7-speed shifter ensures a smooth ride, while the cryuse control keeps the pace steady and kicks in if the computer decides the bike is moving at the same speed for five seconds.
The 417.6 Wh battery offers 120 km of range in pedal assist mode, or 60 km if you don't mind pedaling. If you put a second removable battery under the front frame, the bike's range will increase to 250km in assist mode or 120km in a power plant. The second battery also has a USB port for charging your smartphone.
Dimensions of Zectron in working conditions - 150 × 65 × 106 cm, folded - 85 × 65 × 80 cm. Weight 25 kg, load capacity 120 kg. The frame is made of magnesium alloy, there is an oil suspension for driving comfort, hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear lights. The 20-inch, six-spoke aluminum alloy wheels are topped with 2.125-inch tires.
A 3.9-inch LCD display is integrated into the steering wheel, which displays important traffic information.
On Indiegogo, you can pay $899 for an e-bike at the fundraising stage, saving you 55% off the suggested retail price. The second battery will cost $279 at the top. If the campaign ends successfully, deliveries can start in April 2023.
Last year, the Chinese company Fiido introduced a new product with an impressive range, a torque sensor, a battery hidden in the seatpost and a security system with a smart combination lock. The model came out in two versions, X and X Lite.
