M3 Competition and M4 Competition Coupe: faithfully recreate their racing-inspired character
The new BMW M3 Competition and BMW M4 Competition Coupe faithfully recreate their racing-inspired character, this time moving much further away from the BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series Coupe than from previous generations. Muscular, crisp and streamlined, M-specific design features harmoniously integrate into its modern design language.
This new generation features exclusive exterior paint tones, large M light alloy wheels, the optional M Carbon exterior package and a whole range of M Performance accessories. It is undeniable that the new BMW M models feature a distinctive figure and are instantly recognizable from any angle.
Undoubtedly, the M vertical double kidney grille is the most controversial aspect of the exterior design. It features a black finish and is complemented by additional large air intakes situated to the sides of the grille. On both models the distinctive double bars with the M seal, now arranged horizontally, include the model's emblem.
The problem is that this new grill did not please the vast majority of the public, and that is precisely the reason why there are already some aftermarket experts who have launched new proposals. This is the case of the Adro, which shows a more tapered front and a carbon fiber body package.
The work on the basis of the BMW M3 and M4 Competition was created with the help of a former Mercedes-Benz designer. Unlike other specialists who limit themselves to adjusting the inside of the grille, Adro has created a completely new front bumper. The new grille is 10% smaller than the previous one, with a wider, lower appearance.
In turn, it is placed lower to create a shark nose effect. The kidneys are also further apart, with their upper end coinciding with the LED headlights. The lower bumper air intakes have been reshaped, featuring more aggressive aerodynamic fins and a separate lower intake over the pronounced carbon fiber divider.
This Adro bodypack includes aero extensions for the side skirts, a custom diffuser and a swan-neck rear spoiler that is unique to the M4. The rest of the improvements are offered for the M3 and M4 in all their versions, including the CSL. The models are on display at the SEMA Show 2022 and orders begin in November
