Sierra EV Denali Edition 1
GMC just pulled the sheets on its third all-electric model, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. The all-new range-topper will be joined by additional GMC Sierra EV trim levels at a later date.
Similar to the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV, the new 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is based on the GM BT1 platform, with GM Ultium battery tech and GM Ultium drive motor tech for motivation. Output is applied through the onboard e4WD system, peaking at 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in Max Power mode, enabling the truck to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. Max range per charge is estimated at 400 miles.
The new 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 also features Power Station Pro, providing bi-directional charging and upwards of 10.2 kW of power. The batteries can be charged back via 800 volt DC Public Fast Charging capabilities up to 350 kW, providing 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Inside, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 doesn’t skimp on tech, with the cabin space dominated by a 16.8-inch diagonal infotainment screen, the largest screen ever fitted to a production GMC Sierra model. The new EV pickup also includes trailering-capable GM Super Cruise driver assist technology, as well as Regen on Demand Braking, One-Pedal Driving, and 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk. The onboard Air Ride Adaptive Suspension can raise or lower the truck by roughly 2 inches.
Additionally, the interior appointment includes high-end materials like open-pore wood, aluminum, and etched stainless steel. Up top is a panoramic fixed glass roof.
In terms of practicality, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 incorporates the GMC MultiPro Midgate, an eTrunk, and a max towing capacity up to 9,500 pounds.
“The 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is just the beginning,” said VP of Global Buick and GMC, Duncan Aldred. “It will offer customers our very latest in technology, capability and luxury delivered in a way only GMC can do – with much more to come.”
The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 will launch early in the 2024 calendar year, with pricing starting at $107,000. Reservations are open now at GMC’s website. In addition, GM says it will introduce the GMC Sierra EV AT4 and Elevation trim levels with the 2025 model year. Pricing for the GMC Sierra EV line will start around $50,000.
Production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, while future GMC Sierra EVs will be produced at GM’s Lake Orion plant in Michigan.
