DACIA
The Jogger station wagon will have a hybrid version
Dacia has prepared the Jogger with a new 140 HP hybrid engine for the Paris Motor Show. With the Jogger Hybrid 140 model, Dacia has finally responded to criticism that it doesn't have a four-cylinder engine.
During the model's debut last year, Dacia promised that a more powerful engine variant would be included in the offer at a later date, and that promise has already been fulfilled. Until now, the most powerful Jogger had a one-liter three-cylinder engine that delivered 110 hp.
For now, no further details on the exact specs of the new hybrid power unit have been released, but it is likely to be a 1.6-liter electrified unit from the Renault Clio. In this compact hatchback, the SUS petrol engine is supported by an electric unit and an integrated starter generator, and the assembly is connected to a CVT gearbox. The traction is on the front wheels.
If the same unit receives the Jogger, it will transform it into the most modern car Dacia has produced so far. The Jogger is also the longest and most spacious vehicle offered by the Romanian brand with a length of 4.55 m, a boot volume of 708 liters and a five-seat configuration. When the rear seats are folded down, 1,819 liters of cargo space are obtained.
The technical details of this Jogger will be announced during the Paris Motor Show next week. Orders will be accepted from early next year, and sales are expected to begin in spring 2023. First deliveries are expected in the summer.
