A rede mostrou o crossover BMW X2 da próxima geração

Unprecedented X2 Bavarian crossover appears in real image

To some extent, the current BMW X2 looks different from the brand's other crossovers. The smallest crossover in the Bavarian brand's lineup will soon receive a new generation, but the first "spied on" photos of pre-production prototypes showed a major design change. In addition, the new X2 will be slightly larger and will have a side profile that reminds us of the larger X4.

After the first photos of the crossover, our colleagues from Western publications presented an exclusive render showing the final design of the new X2.

Of course, it's too early to say for sure about all the minor styling changes, but we can at least get a look at the car's overall appearance. And from what we've seen so far, the small crossover will finally have a more mature design more in line with the rest of the BMW lineup.

A larger grille, a more aggressive bumper and headlamps with dual C-shaped LED daytime running lights are a very brief description of what is hidden under the camouflage of the novelty's notorious "spy" prototypes. The front fenders look more "muscled" and can probably accommodate larger wheels than before. Wider side skirts and a higher waist create a visually more robust design, close to what the larger X4 and X6 are. As a side note, the new X4 may be canceled after the current generation.

As far as we know, the X2 will be based on the FAAR platform. This is likely the last generation of the small crossover coupe to get a range of internal combustion engines and likely incorporate BMW's conventional three- and four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, albeit in electrified form. A hotter version of the M35i is also in the works - our spy photographers saw a prototype being tested at the Nürburgring - with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing around 300 horsepower.
