Bagnaia won the fourth race in a row, this time at Misano
Pecco Bagnaia can already say that he has made history at Ducati. He is the first driver of the brand to achieve four consecutive victories. A milestone that not even Casey Stoner could achieve. An incredible streak that has led him to cut 61 points in these last 4 GG.PP and he is already only 30 behind a Fabio Quartararo who sees his advantage bleed to death.
“I am happy but I think about the same as always. I want to reach the level of Quartararo”. At this rate he will arrive, because it is clear that he himself is now the strong man of the championship and the Ducati are a much superior bike. “Since we have found this consistency, the bike is at an incredible level, but today Enea and I have been at another level”.
And it is that Enea Bastianini has taken him to the limit, until the last lap and has almost passed him on the same finish line; showing that until 2023 they will not be teammates. "Today I wanted victory," he said without half measures. And he had a good reason. “We have made Fausto Gresini have fun today”.
Another who was very happy today was Maverick Viñales, who was on the podium again and was the only one who put up a fight against the Ducati. Unlike Pecco and Enea, his race went from more to less, and he was strongest at the start of the race.
Quartararo entered the Yamaha box very angry at the end of the race, aware that he is clearly inferior to the Ducati. Today he was fifth and he already feels the encouragement of Bagnaia, who has already passed an Aleix Espargaró, who has not had an easy time either, competing with the fairing of his Aprilia open.
And special mention for the last dance by Andrea Dovizioso. The Italian says goodbye to the World Championship after 21 seasons and being the second driver with the most World Cup races after Rossi. A legend, that he came very close to being MotoGP champion up to three times, and that he has said goodbye to motorcycling in the points, with a 12th position. #GrazieDovi.
