RSV4 XTrenta: limited series with MotoGP aerodynamics

Aprilia has already accustomed us to special and specific versions for the circuit, such as the RSV4 X or the Tuono X. Now, it returns with a unique edition of its V4 superbike with which it pays tribute to the 30 years since its first World Championship title, achieved in the 125 cc category by Alessandro Gramigni. In fact, the colors are reminiscent of the first of the 54 titles that adorn the winners of the Noale brand; and that Lorenzo Savadori already used in his wild card at the Austrian GP.

The new Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta has been made by Reparto Corse de Noale, exploring the technology applied to its RS-GP of the MotoGP World Championship, especially with regard to aerodynamics, a sector in which the brand has positioned itself at the forefront in recent years.

In this sense, it can boast of being the first production motorcycle with rear and lower aerodynamic appendages. And it is that in the tail it debuts some spectacular spoilers of new design; as well as the swingarm wing, popularly known as the “spoon”. The entire fairing is made of carbon and added to the spectacular front wings, they offer an aerodynamic load, according to official figures, that increases by 25%, while drag is reduced by 4%.

FROM MOTOGP TO THE SERIES...It's not just the aerodynamics, all the materials, components and electronics come from the world of racing. Starting with the engine, which reaches a peak of 230 hp, thanks to an increase in the compression ratio, with a specific titanium and carbon exhaust system created by the SC-Project partner. The water and oil radiators are Taleo Tecnoracing derived from Superbike. A Sprint Filter air filter with MotoGP and Formula 1 specification materials completes the equipment. In addition, Aprilia offers as an option a titanium silencer whose design derives directly from the unit used in MotoGP.

The V4 drive is managed by a specially calibrated Magneti Marelli control unit, while the transmission features a PBR-branded titanium pinion. The electronics assembly is controlled by a JetPrime race panel, while accessories include running boards, levers and a Spider CNC fuel cap.

The Öhlins suspensions have been modified by Andreani in collaboration with the MotoGP engineers. The steering stem is exclusive to Aprilia Racing. The Brembo brand brake system is made up of GP4-MS billet monobloc calipers and 330mm T-drive discs. The Marchesini M7R GENESI forged magnesium wheels are fitted with Pirelli Diablo SBK slick tires in 120/70 and 200/65 sizes, with SC-1 compound at the front and SC-X at the rear. All in all, the weight of this racing version remains at just 166 kg.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICE OF THE APRILIA RSV4 XTRENTA...Aprilia markets a limited series of 100 units, at a price of 50,000 euros plus VAT. You can only book online from their website. And buyers will make an exclusive visit to Reparto Corse in Noale, in addition to its numbered version XTrenta, with the specific cover and mat for the bike.

The Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta is part of the exclusive Factory Works program launched by the brand's racing department. And the objective is none other than to make the highest-level technology available to the customer for use on the circuit and to compete in production-derived motorcycle championships.
