The brand has plans to launch an electrified roadster with 884 horsepower
Swedish electric car maker Polestar has announced plans to mass-produce a roadster based on the O2 concept car first shown in March this year. The novelty will enter the market under the name Polestar 6. The roadster will be equipped with a retractable hard roof.
The novelty will receive an 800-volt architecture with the ability to quickly charge the battery. An all-electric power plant will combine two engines with a total output of 650 kW or 884 horsepower. Torque will reach 900 Nm. It will take 3.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and the top speed will be 250 km/h.
The company's current plans include the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 electric crossovers, as well as the Polestar 5 luxury sedan, which will be in production before 2025.
As for the Polestar 6 roadster, the first buyers will be able to receive it before 2026. Note that this model will inherit the main systems of the Polestar 5 sedan – in particular, the 800-volt architecture. The approximate price of the future car has not yet been announced.
