Nio apresentou a primeira moto elétrica com autonomia de 75 km

Chinese manufacturer presents a new scooter model with a range of 75km

Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio has unveiled the SQi, a two-wheeled vehicle that combines elements of a motorcycle and a bicycle. The new model comes with an electric motor, a set of algorithms for tracking internal components and a removable battery. On a single charge, the Nio SQi is capable of driving 75 kilometers and its top speed is 45 km/h. The cost of the device is from $1,330 to $1,420.

As Electrek notes, due to its design and small power of the electric motor, the Nio SQi will be considered an e-bike in many countries. That way, buyers can avoid problems with vehicle licensing, insurance, and registration. At the same time, in terms of appearance and operation, the SQi is quite similar to a light motorcycle.

It comes with a small 400W motor and a 48V battery in two configurations. Among them: batteries for 20 Ah (960 Wh) and 24 Ah (1152 Wh). These batteries provide a range of 65 to 75 kilometers, respectively. If desired, the SQi owner can quickly remove the battery and install a new one to continue driving. In addition, the model comes with support for its own operating system and machine learning algorithms that update motorcycle data about 200 times per minute.

Using Nio's official app, SQi owners can use GPS to locate their vehicle, as well as view battery status and remotely diagnose internal components. The same system ensures that the e-bike is quickly found in case of theft. In addition, the V37N Cloud ECU supports regular over-the-air software updates.

First of all, the Nio SQi will be on sale in the Chinese market. The company will first organize deliveries in the region of origin and then begin distributing the new model in other countries. The recommended cost of SQi for China ranges from US$1,330 to US$1,420. At the moment, SQi does not have a release date.
