GMC CANYON 2023: CHEGA COM UM POTENTE MOTOR, VERSÃO AVENTUREIRA E VERSÃO DE LUXO

Canyon 2023: American pick-up arrives renewed design, turbocharged engine and luxurious Denali finish in the main version

GMC Canyon 2023 is already a reality. The American pick-up arrives with a refreshed design, a turbocharged engine, a more capable AT4X version and a luxurious Denali finish that puts some of its rivals to shame. It will go into production early next year, but the AT4X version will arrive in the first quarter of 2023.

Aesthetically, the Canyon 2023 is much more masculine than its predecessor. The model's smooth curves have been replaced by a more avant-garde design and an almost vertical front, which incorporates a prominent grille and split LED lighting units.

Nor is it missing the marked wheel arches and a new tailgate with the GMC insignia. As with the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, the tailgate has an integrated storage compartment that can be accessed by lowering the lid. We assume it is airtight and measures 1,143 mm wide.

Like the Colorado, the Canyon is offered exclusively in a double-cab, short-bucket configuration. In it we find a variety of cargo lashings, as well as two slots for motorcycle/bicycle wheels. There's also a 110V outlet and a tailgate that stops halfway through.

The interior of the new Canyon is a revolution in both design and quality. There are high quality materials, a modern design and high-tech features. This is the case of the 8.0-inch digital instrumentation, and the 11.3-inch infotainment system.

It includes wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as Google integration. There aren't many details for now, but we know there will be a variety of finishes and moldings, a sliding glass roof, gloss black accents, etc.

The most luxurious will undoubtedly be the Denali. It features a unique exterior with a chrome grille and additional chrome accents. The wheels are 20 inches. No less interesting is the luxurious interior, with 11-inch digital instrumentation, leather, electric, heated and ventilated seats, HUD, Bose audio system, etc.

The rugged, off-road-focused AT4X isn't far behind either. The model has front and rear e-lockers, Multimatic DSSV shock absorbers and underbody protection. It also has the exclusive Baja riding mode and 272 mm of ground clearance, as well as 36.9, 25 and 24.5 degrees of attack, departure and ventral angles.

The interior is equipped with exclusive Obsidian Rush and Ceramic White leather seats that feature AT4X embroidery. The front seats are also heated and ventilated, as well as electrically adjustable. There's 11-inch digital instrumentation, red accents, and a 6.3-inch HUD, among many other things.

The 2023 GMC Canyon is offered exclusively with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder supercharged engine. It develops 314 hp and 582 Nm of maximum torque, which is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The super-elevated stance is due to its all-terrain suspension, which adds up to 51 mm on the Elevation, AT4 and Denali versions, and 76 mm on the AT4X. The former mount 32-inch tires, while the AT4X bets on 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

It can be combined with rear or four-wheel drive. The towing capacity is 3,493 kg and the payload capacity reaches a maximum of 744 kg. The AT4X and Denali include a limited-slip differential. Of course, they also improve driving and safety assistance.

City emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, forward collision alert, automatic high/low beam system and active lane assist are standard. The optional Canyon Safety Plus package adds active rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, an HD immersive vision system and more.
