BMW XM: first autonomous M SUV model from the Bavarian brand that will hit the market soon
BMW introduced the XM Concept on November 30 of last year, but it was already known that it was announcing a future production model that will arrive in 2022, as the first autonomous M SUV model.
The Bavarians also say that the XM is the most expressive statement in 50 years of the BMW M. The statement adds that this is “an exclusive X for the M brand, which showcases the new front design of the BMW luxury class”.
Meanwhile, those production model patents due to appear in late October or early November have been leaked.
The standard version of the BMW XM series will have a combination of 480 kW/653 HP and 800 Nm (combination of the new turbocharged V8 petrol and electric motor), but a stronger version with 748 HP and 1000 Nm of torque is also announced. It will also be possible to drive in electric mode, up to 80 km (according to WLTP).
Of course, there will be all-wheel drive, standard Adaptive M Professional suspension, M braking system, M alloy wheels up to 23 inches, more striking front “kidneys”, as well as a driver-oriented M interpretation of the cockpit, a curve of the infotainment system, M version of the BMW iDrive operating system, red accents on the steering wheel, brown leather, carbon fiber and ambient lighting in BMW M colors as well.
