BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT SPEED CONVERTIBLE SAGER STRONG FOUNDATION: UM ‘ONE-OFF’ POR UMA BOA CAUSA

Convertible Continental GT Speed converts to a 'one-off', for a good cause

A unique car to remember an American icon. This Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible converts into a 'one-off' that will be auctioned in the coming months to support cancer research, thanks to the joint efforts of Bentley America and the SagerStrong Foundation, which paid tribute to the famous NBA commentator, Craig Sager.

Sager, who passed away in 2016 from blood cancer, was the most famous and eclectic voice in American basketball for more than two decades, to the point of being inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.

A commentator famous for his 'moves' with coaches during interviews, but also for his extravagant attire. In fact, this very special Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible is inspired by one of his last public appearances, when he was already sick and went to receive the Perseverance Award in 2016.

The Bentley donated to the project was 'dressed' with a floral motif where we see roses of various colors decorating the sides of the Continental GT Speed Convertible, which evolves in color: from the front in black to the rear in white.

All in a set created by Bentley's Mulliner division, which wanted to use Carig Sager's passion for cars as a guiding thread and in which every detail was handcrafted.

In addition to its unique decor, this 'one-off' has Sager's signature sewn into the headrests of the seats, and will soon be able to join many others of equal importance.

In fact, the aim is to involve celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment to increase the value of the car so that when it is auctioned in 2023, it will raise as much money as possible for the SagerStrong Foundation.

Stacy Sager, wife of Craig Sager and president of the SagerStrong Foundation, commented on the creation of this special Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible: “Craig had a deep-seated passion for craftsmanship, which was reflected in the clothes he wore and the cars he chose to have in his garage. . If he were here today, he would be cruising around with his family in this vehicle, with the top down and a beaming smile.”

The Bentley that will soon be auctioned is unique on the outside, but it has all the numbers that made the Continental GT Speed a benchmark among luxury convertibles.

Under the hood is the already famous W12 engine, with 6.0 liters of displacement and two turbos, capable of developing 650 hp and 900 Nm of torque, capable of propelling this luxurious model from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 335 km/h.
