Mazda has opened pre-orders for updated versions of the Mazda3 platform hatchback and CX-30 crossover in Japan. Cars received updated filler and trim materials, but did not change externally.
The Mazda3 is offered in Japan in four engine versions: Skyactiv-G 1.5, e-Skyactiv G 2.0, Skyactiv-D 1.8 and e-Skyactiv X. The Mazda CX-30 crossover has three versions: e-Skyactiv G 2.0, Skyactiv -D 1.8 and e-Skyactiv X.
The main innovation was the introduction of the M Hybrid system based on the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G PE-VPS gasoline engine and 157 horsepower. This system, working according to the "soft" hybrid scheme, regenerates braking energy and assists the internal combustion engine during starting and acceleration. According to the manufacturer, this reduces fuel consumption. The power reserve of each liter of gasoline is increased by around 600 m, while noise and vibration from the internal combustion engine are reduced.
The top versions of the Mazda3 and CX-30 have improved trim materials, a frameless interior mirror with auto-dimming, and optional upholstery in expensive natural leather.
