Acura Precision EV Concep: allows the brand to look to the more immediate future

It's time for Acura to bet on the electric car. Honda's well-known premium brand has already activated all the machines to carry out its particular electrification process. A process on which new and interesting information is now emerging thanks to the entry into the scene of a conceptual model. This is the new Acura Precision EV Concept.

Acura's new concept car allows us to look into the more immediate future of the company. A future marked by electric mobility. The new Precision EV Concept advances the main keys of the design language that Acura will use in its electric vehicles, and if that were not enough, it is also the prelude to a 100% electric SUV that we will know in 2024.

Just take a quick look at the new Precision EV Concept to discover its most distinctive features. It is a vehicle to which we must pay close attention, as, as we have highlighted before, it will inspire Acura's next projects. The brand itself describes it as the “North Star”.

On the front is an evolution of Acura's Diamond Pentagon grille. Due to the differences that exist between the air-cooling needs of a thermal and an electric car, the designers were able to take certain measures. One section is lit. It is also worth noting the form adopted by the optical groups.

The side view brings out its SUV essence and, incidentally, we can appreciate beautiful 23-inch alloy wheels that allow you to see the yellow painted brake calipers. And ending the tour of the exterior at the rear, there are LED lights in a horizontal arrangement, enveloping and very thin.

As for the interior of the new Precision EV Concept, we are quickly enveloped by a futuristic environment. It is in the cabin where it becomes clear that we are facing a conceptual model. Acura used premium, sustainable materials. For example, the seats are upholstered in biomass leather and the aluminum is recycled. There is also wood extracted from responsibly controlled forests.

The driving position is low and the steering wheel has a Formula 1-inspired design. In addition to offering a sporty driving experience, this SUV has autonomous driving capability. In case of activating it, the steering wheel will retract and the lighting system will form a relaxing environment to enjoy the journey.

A large screen, curved and transparent, acts as a nerve center. It is a fundamental component for managing the infotainment system. The interior of the Precision EV Concept showcases an advancement of the Dual Experience interior design philosophy.

Last but not least, we must emphasize the fact that some of the features we see in the Precision EV Concept will be applied to Acura's first electric crossover. An SUV that will be available to the market in 2024. 

As highlighted by Emile Korkor, Deputy VP of National Sales at Acura: “The Acura Precision EV Concept is a design study that will shape the direction of future Acura products in the electrified age, including our first all-electric SUV in 2024.”
