TESLA

Brand models have new price adjustments

Last year, Tesla raised the price of its electric vehicles almost every month, but by no more than $500, this year it decided to take rarer but bigger steps. The last notable price increase took place in March, the brand's electric vehicles rose slightly in April, but June could not end without rewriting prices upwards either.

In the Model 3 lineup, the price of just the Long Range four-wheel drive version has increased – from $54,490 to $57,990, two thousand five hundred dollars. Prices remained unchanged for the base sedan with rear-wheel drive ($46,990) and the Performance all-wheel-drive version ($62,990). Here and below prices are for the US market.

The Model Y crossover is considered the brand's most popular electric car. In the domestic market, it is offered in two versions, the newest Long Range has gone up in price by three thousand dollars from $62,990 to $65,990, the older one has added a two thousand dollars in price from $67,990 to $69,990. In Texas, assembly of the more affordable Model Y Standard Range has begun, but is only available to customers in that state by special invitation.

Market veteran, the Tesla Model S sedan, in keeping with spring tradition, went up in price five thousand dollars in one go, from $99,990 to $104,990 for the Long Range all-wheel drive version. The Plaid version, which previously cost $135,990, has kept its previous price tag. In fact, all versions of the Tesla Model S in the US now cost over a hundred thousand dollars.

The most affordable version of the Tesla Model X crossover now costs $120,990, which is $6,000 more than yesterday's price. Last time it went up five thousand dollars a day, so the pace is gradually increasing. As with the Model S, the Plaid variant of the Model X crossover has retained its $138,990 price tag.

Elon Musk, commenting on Tesla's earlier price hike for electric vehicles, spoke of its precautionary nature. In other words, the company is protecting itself from future price increases for materials and components, as it takes several months from ordering a machine to delivering it to the customer. If material price dynamics took a negative vector, Tesla management would consider lowering electric vehicle prices. As you can see, there are no prerequisites for this step yet.
