DJI
Famous Chinese drone maker to develop autonomous driving system for vehicle manufacturer
Chinese drone developer and manufacturer Da-Jiang Innovations Science and Technology (DJI) has developed a level 4 autonomous driving system that requires little or no intervention from the driver in the process of driving a vehicle. Initially, the system will be used in the SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile joint venture's KiWi electric vehicle.
According to DigiTimes, DJI and SAIC-GM-Wuling have been working on a joint project since 2019, investing several billion yuan in research. As part of this collaboration, DJI has involved more than 4,000 people in development and opened a special track to test finished prototypes, organized a 5G automotive infrastructure, introduced a remote driving system and other applied technologies. In total, the experimental samples traveled over a million kilometers.
In addition, DJI has formed its own team of 1,000 people dedicated specifically to smart driving systems and their key components, as well as the production and marketing of such products. In the future, DJI aims to become one of the leading providers of hardware and software integrated self-driving systems.
In addition, Livox Technology, a subsidiary of DJI, a lidar development company founded in 2016, has entered into an agreement to develop related modules for vehicles commissioned by Chinese autonomous driving technology developers, including Suzhou Zhito Technology, Baidu Apollo, PlusAI and TuSimple. .
