Japanese brand partners to create the Primastar Seaside camper van
Nissan doesn't want to lose a single nature-loving customer and for that it collaborated with the German specialist Dethleffs to create a very interesting camper van, the Primastar Seaside, with four seats and two beds. A very interesting alternative to preparations on the Fiat Ducato, the authentic best-sellers in the segment.
The truth is that the Japanese vehicle has little to envy the Italian one, as it uses comfortable individual seats installed on rails, so they can be removed comfortably, and even a retractable roof. All this at 5.08 meters long, which is no exaggeration.
Versatility is one of the strengths of the Japanese model. For example, the two benches can be placed on one side, leaving the other for elongated objects such as surfboards, skis or bicycles. In addition, extra seats (a total of six) can be requested for the family's daily transport.
The Dethleffs conversion includes a small kitchen on the left side, consisting of two burners, a sink, a 36 liter fridge and plenty of storage space.
Meals can be taken on a retractable table that is located between the rear and front seats. The latter can rotate 180º so that they look inside the van and thus create a small dining room.
At night, Seaside transforms into a small hotel room with two beds. The lower one, 2.0 meters long and 1.25 meters wide, unfolds in the cabin, while the upper one, 1.89 x 1.25 meters, is installed in the folding roof. They fit four people in total.
There is now no bathroom, so needs must be done outside and as privately as possible. In the case of staying overnight at a campsite, there are bathrooms in these facilities.
The Nissan Primastar Seaside by Dethleffs can be chosen with two 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engines, with 150 and 170 hp. Undoubtedly, having a diesel engine in this type of vehicle guarantees an interesting performance and the most adjusted consumption possible.
This model will go on sale this summer, but definitive prices have not yet been announced, but it should be a little cheaper than many Ducato campers. In addition, the vehicle will have an official warranty of five years or 160,000 kilometers, both for the vehicle and for the conversion.
