PICASSO AUTOMOTIVE INICIARÁ A PRODUÇÃO DO PS-01 EM JULHO

Picasso PS-01 will be the Swiss brand's first production super sports car

Switzerland prepares to launch its first production supercar. Stefano Picasso, founder of Picasso Automotive, announced in January last year that he and his team were working on the so-called Picasso PS-01, billed as “the craziest carbon fiber car in history”. Almost a year and a half later, the super sports car is ready to be presented in its final production form next month.

Picasso Automotive has released an official press release to let the world know that it plans to show the high-performance vehicle during Monaco's 'Top Marques' in early June. On June 8, the company will unveil the PS-01 (unconfirmed name for the production model) and reveal all its technical specifications and commercial details.

The Swiss supercar weighs just under 1,000 kilograms thanks to the intensive use of carbon fiber “at an unprecedented level”. In addition, its advanced aerodynamics generate up to 900 kilograms of downward load at top speed, which makes the car more stable at full performance.

Picasso Automotive claims that top speed and ultimate acceleration are its essential qualities and that the PS-01 will be fast on circuits and public roads, offering an “unparalleled driving experience”.

However, the engine that powers the Swiss supercar remains a mystery for now. When the vehicle was announced last year, Picasso Automotive said it would be powered by "one of the most famous Italian cars".

At the time, it was believed to be a V6 biturbo mechanic with around 600 hp, but the production version will use a “completely different” powertrain. For now, not much is known about it, only that it is “specifically designed to offer the best compromise between performance and functionality”.

Picasso Automotive works in collaboration with many well-known companies in the automotive industry to develop the PS-01. Sadev, for example, works on transmission, while Sabelt provides the banks. Carbo Brake takes care of the braking system and the suspension is handled by Öhlins. The Swiss-based company has an international investor and has already received the first orders for the production supercar.
