Bastianini at the top again at Le Mans
In an extremely hectic race, patience was a virtue. And that's what Enea Bastianini had at the French GP, this Sunday (15th). The Gresini rider was in a tough clash with Francesco Bagnaia who, in an attempt to defend the position, ended up making a mistake — seconds later, he crashed and retired — and allowing his compatriot to overtake. It is the third win for 'The Bestia' in 2022.
Jack Miller minimized the injury to his Ducati teammate by crossing the finish line in second place. Aleix Espargaró, who remains runner-up in the championship, finished where he started: in third position.
Fabio Quartararo was lucky. He had a bad start, went from fourth to ninth, but recovered. And, with Pecco's retirement, he managed to finish in fourth place. This makes him maintain the leadership of the Worlds. Johann Zarco completes the top-5.
Marc Marquez, Takaaki Nakagami, Brad Binder, Luca Marini and Maverick Vinãles close the top ten. Suzuki suffered the most in the race. Both drivers, Joan Mir and Álex Rins, crashed and abandoned the race.
MotoGP returns to the track on the 29th of May for the Italian GP at Mugello, the eighth stage of the 2022 season.
