LOTUS EMIRA GT4: O NOVO CARRO DE CORRIDAS DA MARCA BRITÂNICA

Emira GT4 is the brand's new racing car

After a teaser announcing a new Lotus racing car, the British manufacturer finally unveiled at its own Hethel circuit the new Lotus Emira GT4, logically focused on the GT4 category.

It is the first model signed by the recently announced Lotus Advanced Performance division, a department in charge of the most special creations of the house and competition models. The brand has confirmed that the first year production of this new Emira GT4 is already sold out.

The British model hides the well-known 3.5-liter V6 engine of Toyota origin, supercharged through a classic volumetric compressor, and which in this case offers a maximum power of 406 hp at 7,200 rpm.

The Japanese engine is coupled to a 6-speed sequential racing transmission, signed by Xtrac, associated in turn with a self-locking differential that distributes the power of the propeller between the rear wheels exclusively.

Regarding the suspension, the GT4 has double wishbones on both axles, with adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers and front and rear stabilizer bars. In addition, Lotus equipped 18-inch wheels with Pirelli GT4 tyres, an adjustable Bosch ABS, competition brakes and an FIA safety cage for the cabin.

Of course, the model also faced a severe diet, thanks to body panels and aluminum components, achieving an empty weight of 1,300 kilograms.

For the occasion, Lotus added both the new Emira GT4 and a historic predecessor, in particular the Lotus Type 30 manufactured in 1965, powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine from Ford, for the photo shoot in Hethel.

Finally, the starting price of the new Emira GT4, handcrafted in the United Kingdom by Lotus and the RML Group, is 165,000 pounds sterling, which is equivalent to around 1 million reais at today's exchange rate, although it may vary depending on the specifications required by the customer.
