F-150 Raptor R will have a supercharged 702 horsepower V8 engine

Previous reports have highlighted the fact that a V8 unit will eventually be under the hood of the new F-150 Raptor R. But it was not known which V8 Ford would use for the new car. There have been theories about a new V8 or major changes to the Predator V8, but now they're all dead as dinosaurs.

Leaked images from Instagram user Raptor Connection show both the engine and the official Ford factory assembly rotation sheet. The first post, uploaded just three days ago, has a photo of a construction sheet with the words Raptor C and 5.2L. The author of this Instagram account confirmed that he has no doubts that these images are real.

This 5.2 liter engine will be a 760 hp Predator V8. in Shelby GT500 Mustang. That's noticeably more than the 702 horsepower generated by the supercharged V8 engine in the RAM 1500 TRX. It's also impossible at this early stage to know how much Ford plans to charge for the F-150 Raptor R. That said, there's confirmation for some details. First, the Shelby GT500's engine is actually a performance part that can be found on Ford's own website. It costs $27,295 there, so it's entirely possible that the Raptor R will be priced close to the TRX RAM at around $70,000 or more. Second, despite the Ford CEO's warning against the markings, the new Raptor R will be hard to find on the MSRP.
