PEUGEOT LANÇARÁ APENAS CARROS ELETRIFICADOS A PARTIR DE 2026

Peugeot advances in its electric strategy and has just announced that it will only launch electrified cars from 2026 onwards. Stellantis Group. In this way, the French brand is ahead of the European Commission's proposal to ban combustion engines in 2035.

With more than 80% of its range in electric and plug-in hybrid versions, Peugeot is one of the leading brands in this field in the European market and is well on its way to fulfilling its commitment to offering electric and plug-in hybrid alternatives in all their models in 2026.

Recently, the Stellantis Group announced its Dare Forward 2030 program with which it plans to achieve zero CO2 emissions by 2038 and launch all-electric vehicles in 2030. In total, the Group will launch more than 75 zero-emission models from today to the end of the decade. , more than 60 of them in European markets.

In this way, Peugeot gives a new impetus to the electrification of its line, although the interest of the French brand in this field goes back a long time. We have to go back to 1941, in the midst of World War II and with France occupied by Nazi Germany, when the Sochaux manufacturer became the first to market an electric vehicle.

It was the Peugeot VLV, a two-seater mini-cabriolet with 80 kilometers of autonomy, designed to ensure essential services, such as the post office and medical assistance, in a context of fuel shortages due to the war. In its development, studies carried out by engineers of the brand in the 1920s were used, using the Peugeot 201 as a basis.
